“Now for the Rest of the Story”

Revelation 19:11-16

Deceased radio commentator Paul Harvey had a signature saying, “And now for the rest of the story.”

Today's message is exactly that. Stemming from last week's message, a question was asked. How long, Lord, how long will you let this wicked world go unjudged.

I believe that it's getting very close.

Jesus gave a litany of matters that would be occurring in great intensity just prior to the father's unleashing his wrath upon this world. This is found in Matthew 24, and from the last week's text Mark 13.

This is referred to as the Olivet discourse.

Before the discourse, he predicted that the temple would be razed to the ground.

What is 7 years later Prophecy was fulfilled.

Roman General Titus, after a 2-year siege of Jerusalem took the Holy city in over 600,000 Jews were killed.

The disciples posed A twofold question.

What will there be the signs of thy coming, and of the age coming to an end?

Christ told them that many would claim to be him, the Messiah, and many would follow them.

He said that the world would be full of murder and violence would fill the lands.

There would be wars around the globe. Ethnic groups would expand their hatred for one another, that nations and kingdoms would rise up and alienate one another.

He added that his disciples would experience greater persecution and that natural disasters would increase in number and intensity.

A moral collapse and the natural love of God would wane.

In Luke 21:28, Jesus said, “when these begin to come to pass, lift up your heads for your redemption draweth near.”

In this application, the term redemption isn't being used in the referring of our spiritual salvation.

Here it means our physical bodies being redeemed by Christ.

That is going to happen in an event that we are referred to as the Rapture or the catching away of the believer.

Please turn to 1st Thessalonians 4:13- 18 and then to 1st Corinthians 15:51-58.

These two texts are speaking on a similar and same action and event.

John 14:1-3 “But not your heart. Be troubled. You believe in God. The father, then believe also in me.”

In my father's house are many mansions. If it were not so, I would have told you.

I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself, that where I am there ye may also be.

Again, 1 Thessalonians 4:16- 17 in Corinthians 15:51-52.

This is going to happen, folks, and I believe it'll be soon.

The Second coming of Jesus Christ is comprised of two separate and distinct events.

First, the rapture of the Christ Church.

Second., we read today's text.

Can you see that the happenings are not all similar?

Sandwiched in between is going to be seven years of hell on Earth., This is called the tribulation. The first half is called the Tribulation, the latter Christ called the Great tribulation.

This world will accept an individual that Jesus said would be one of many false messiahs, but this one will have the means, the abilities to charm this world into making him their God.

Wrath of our God, the one true living God will be unleashed.

I believe the Rapture starts this and the second coming concludes it.
