Advent Week 3: Peace

Today we celebrate week three of the Advent season. Week one was hope. Week two is peace. Today, week three is love. Week four will be joy.

Have you ever wondered why God the Father chose to announce the birth of his son, the Messiah, to the lowest caste of Israel and not to the Kings and Lords of the land?

It was to give them hope and peace that God gave the gift of the King of Israel to them as well.

The shepherds used to be told that the arrival had occurred for not only the upper caste of society but for all people from every area of life.

John 3:16 had yet to be written on parchment in ink, however, it was born and began in Bethlehem of Judea. Love in its greatest form and sense, and shepherds, the meek and the lonely heard the news first.

From the song “Special Delivery”:

“He came special delivery wrapped up in love. Bound by a promise, sealed by a Dove and filled with the Spirit, carried by grace.”

The coming of the Son of God, the hope of all mankind, the only true peace that would last, the living embodiment of the unmitigated agape love of God.

His coming and arrival prove the accuracy and the truth of the word of God. The accuracy of the prophetical utterances was spot on.

Bethlehem gave us the greatest love story ever told.

Within that love story lies another one.

It is one that also included love, grace, mercy, forgiveness, and sacrifice.

I don't honestly know if it began as a love story, but I truly believe in it that it involved one.

The greatest love story that lay in the manger was the common denominator in His early Love story too.

Joseph and Mary.

Again, these people were just regular people, people that God used.

I'll bet they were in the line of David. Much as prophecy had dictated.

Matthew 1: 18-25.

Luke 1: 27-35.
