Chance or Providence

Chance or Providence
Jeremiah 29:10-14
The word chance is a word that brings about uncertainty for everyone whether we realize it or not.
A few synonyms for this word are familiar to us. Possible, plausible, feasible. Use these words in our vocabulary and likely think nothing about it but should we? But think about that when we use them are we exercising Trust and face in the Providence of God?
Think about it and what about the word but and if.
Remember Jeremiah 29:11 again.
"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord thoughts of peace, and not evil, to give you an expected end. "
The Lord never said or used the words chance, possible, plausible or feasible. Hypothetically what if God used these.
Examples: " for there is a chance that I think... " "It's possible that I do..." " There is a feasible chance that I will do these things for you... " "It may be plausible I'll give you peace and not evil and give you a great end. "
How confident would that make you in that promise?
The very minimum it could cause you to have some serious doubt.
If God were to use those words we could look at them and think what with positivity, but honestly were you meant we would likely look at them as negativity.
My trust and faith might waver on certainly could creep on that immutability of God. Is there a chance, Is it feasible, plausible or possible that God does not have good thoughts for me. That he doesn't give me peace, that he's indifferent to Evil coming against me and expected and is not what we believe.
Thankfully we don't have to be concerned about any of that, because in a very positive way as the angel Gabriel told Mary "With God all things are possible."
what isn't possible is for God's word to us not to be true.
There is not a chance, nor is it possible, possible nor feasible for the Christian Life not to be planned out for us by God. It is by his Providence.
If God uses the word chance and it's synonyms and it's cause this is our trust, our faith to waiver and we wouldn't like that.
How do you think that God reacts to our using those words?
Well there's a chance that John 3:16 may be true?
It's possible that a place called hell is real.
Can it be possible that heaven can be unreal and everyone goes there? The word of God and its accuracy might be feasible or not?
Can you see how using or thinking the words chance, possible, possible and feasible in regards the matters of Life can bring distrust and doubt of God's Providence over our lives? They can bring uncertainty about the promises of God, they can bring uncertainty in our relationship with him, they can cause doubt in our relationships on Earth 2.
God is Not slack concerning his promises. His word is inerrant, infallible, inspired and absolutely divine.
This New Year may we be more sensitive to our words, especially those that can cause others in are cells reasons to doubt, to distress, cause our faith to waiver.
Examples:
Person 1: I was watching a documentary on Charles Darwin and he had a column telling argument for evolution.
Person 1: Listen, do you believe God's word is inerrant? Person 2: Yes absolutely. Person 1: What does Genesis 1:1 say? Person 2: In the beginning God created the heavens and the Earth.
Person 1: Okay, does it say there's a chance he did oh, does it say it's possible, or plausible or if it's feasible he did? Person 2: No it says that he did.
person 1 there's not a chance God didn't. Person 2: Thank you for explaining that because my friend thinks it's possible that Darwin's theory is right.
Bold as a Christian the Holy Spirit tells us the truth. Can you see how those 4 words can cause a person to doubt creation?
Person 1 : Man, I'm really stoked?
Person 2: why what's up?
Person 1: I read this am, about a pastor who told his people that there's a chance that Jesus isn't the only way to eternal life.
Person 2: really? Jesus not being the way the truth and the life is real.
Person 1: We know that, but now how many people might believe it's possible that he's not?
Person 2: Boy, I see what you mean, but surely charging people can't believe that's even feasible!
Unfortunately, these false statements can cause a person to consider it's feasible! Can you see how the word chance could easily bring doubt, cause trust and faith to waiver about God and his word. I haven't even spoke about two other words but and if.
Person 1: Hey buddy oh, have you heard if it's going to rain today?
Person 2: Yeah, there's a 50% chance.
Person 1: So, it's likely that it will then?
Person 2: right but it's possible that it won't.
Person 1: Okay, I'm going to believe it's pretty plausible It Will Rain then.
Person 2: But it's feasible it won't.
Can you see how these words can cause uncertainty? Ultimately God is in control and has Providence even in nature.
