Summer Vacation – A New Class Will Begin September 2018
What is Awana?
Awana is a fun filled action-packed Bible based program for kids ages Preschool to 7th grade. The name Awana was derived from the first letters of the words “Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed” from 2 Timothy 2:15. It means believers are eager to share the Good News of the Gospel.
In weekly club meetings Awana Children play age appropriate games memorize verses, according to a topical system and participate in large group Bible Lessons. It was founded in 1950 as an international, non-denominational Bible Centered Ministry for youth. Awana is a ministry that helps parents and churches raise children and youth to know, love and serve Christ. Each club meeting consists of three main segments Game Time, and Large Group Time, Handbook Time, and Large Group Time. Children and youth play age appropriate games, memorize Bible verses and participate in large-group Bible teaching.
Parents are welcomed to stay and enjoy any Awana night with your clubber. We are looking for help too, so why not stay and see what you can do to help your child.
The probability of a person accepting Christ as their Savior is highest between ages 4 and 14. Religious beliefs are largely set by age 13 and statistically don’t change much in adulthood. Statistics show that each year that passes beyond this age group the likelihood of someone accepting salvation becomes less and less of a reality. This is our window of opportunity to reach these souls for Christ. Our work with the children in bringing Christ to them is so important! Let us give “One More” for them.
Roseville Independent Chapel Awana Vision Statement
Our prayer and our focus is that all children will come to know and feel the love of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ, to accept salvation
And have that deep personal relationship with him. Our children are so important to God therefore they are important to us. Our desire is that they will grow in their walk with Him.
For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8
And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them. But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, “Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not:
for of such is the kingdom of God. Verily I say unto you, whosoever shall not receive the Kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not
enter therein.” And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them. Mark 10:13-16
Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. Psalm 119:11
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
In Puggles, children are welcomed each week with play time, songs and simple crafts and activities. Leaders present age-appropriate lessons using large, colorful teaching cards, finger puppet plays and more. Lessons teach and reinforce four basic biblical precepts:
- God Made Everything • God Saw That It Was Good
- God is Love • Give Thanks
Preschoolers can hardly wait for their next Cubbies club meeting. Whether it’s the fun puppets, the exciting games or all their Cubbies friends, they simply love it. At Story Time each week, preschoolers learn about God the greatness of His love and His Word – and about His Son, Jesus Christ, the promised Savior. Non-competitive games build excitement and reinforce Story Time lesson themes. Cubbies helps you lead your child to God early so your child will respect and trust Him for life.
To many children in kindergarten to second grade, Sparks is the highlight of the week! They love their red vests, the exciting games and spending time with leaders and friends. Each year, Sparks clubbers:
- explore the biographies of people of the Bible from a new portion of Scripture
- memorize Bible verses
- complete handbook activities
T&T engages third through seventh graders by answering their questions about God and the Bible, guiding them through this pivotal life stage to grow in Christ’s grace.
